Cheap toner Cartridges
For printer manufacturers, the cost of giving away or selling printers cheaply is usually regained when a name brand toner cartridge is purchased. But some people want to avoid spending up to $95 to replace toner cartridges by buying third-party cheap toner cartridges. Of course, there are pros and cons to buying cheap toner cartridges, but in the end, it is up to the person who is using the printer to decide what is best for them, and if it is worth the money they save in the end.
Printer manufacturers tell customers to only use the name brand cartridges that they sell to refill the consumable toner cartridges in printers. But there are a few reasons to consider looking at cheap toner cartridges produced by third-party manufacturers.
Cost - The cost is definitely lower than buying a name brand cartridge, up to two thirds less in price.
Convenience - Cheap toner cartridges can be ordered online at home, or bought in stores like Cartridge World. Some name brand cartridges can only be ordered online.
Compatibility - Most cheap toner cartridges are compatible with name brand printers.
Warranty - Buying cheap toner cartridges does not void the warranty of a printer as long as the cartridge did not cause the damage to the printer.
Of course, there are also disadvantages to purchasing cheap toner cartridges. Studies have been done by PC World Magazine to show that these third-party cartridges are not what they seem to be.
Print quality - Many third-party cartridges do not have the same quality of print as name brands.
Increased need for maintenance - Some cartridges clog the print heads easily, and have to be cleaned repeatedly.
Potential damage - Not all cartridges are compatible with all printers, and can potentially damage the print head.
Warranty - If a printer is damaged by a cheap toner cartridge, the warranty can be voided by the manufacturer.
